The Caminito del Rey and Ronda are two of the biggest reasons to leave the beach in Málaga province, and they sit about an hour and a quarter apart by car. Done well, they make one of the best days of an Andalucía trip. Done badly, you spend it in traffic with the wrong ticket. Here is how to do it well.
The Caminito attracts around 330,000 visitors a year and its tickets are released in batches that sell out fast, so the ticket decides the whole plan. Everything else is flexible.
The plan in 20 seconds
- Step 1: get the Caminito ticket first, from the official site only (general €10, guided €18 in 2026). Pick the slot that suits you.
- Step 2: drive to Ronda (about 1 h 15 min) and spend the afternoon in town.
- Step 3: add a flight over Ronda from €100, ideally on a second morning.
- One day or two? Two is much easier. One day works if you take an early Caminito slot and fly in the afternoon.
- Language: booking and the confirmation email are in English or Spanish; we also answer on WhatsApp in English.
Three ways to combine them
🥾 Day 1: Caminito, then Ronda
- Early Caminito slot, then the drive to Ronda.
- Afternoon on the Puente Nuevo, the old town and the bullring.
- Sleep in Ronda so the next morning is free for a flight.

- Paramotor over the Puente Nuevo: 15, 30 or 40 min, from €100.

What if the Caminito tickets are sold out?

- Málaga airport to the Caminito: roughly 50 minutes.
- Málaga airport to Ronda: between 1 h 30 min and 1 h 45 min.
- Marbella to Ronda: about 1 h 15 min.
These are approximate times. The Caminito entrance times are fixed by your ticket, so work backwards from them. Flights depend on the forecast, which is why we confirm 24-48 hours before.
